Mining Equipment Shipping
Global transport of oversize mining equipment requires critical path analysis, meticulous attention to detail, experience in handling oversize freight and a global network of experienced logistics partners. Most mines are located in remote locations with extremely limited access. In many cases non-conventional modes of transport must be employed for part of the journey such as barges, helicopters and even hovercraft in combination with RO/RO vessels, break bulk carriers, containerships, charter vessels, scheduled air cargo freighters or charter aircraft.
Every shipment is mapped out with obstacles highlighted, as well as dimensional and weight restrictions. Multiple solutions are considered and priced. The optimal solution for the client’s needs is then chosen in collaboration with the client and the relevant logistics partners and carriers. Permits for oversize and overweight inland transport are arranged as well as part or full charters for ocean and air shipments to destinations with no scheduled service or insufficient capacity.
Rates offered are often lower than available to most shippers based on volume contracts with the major carriers offering service to these remote locations.
Our scope includes transport of the full range of equipment from dealers and manufacturers such as Atlas Copco, Bucyrus-Erie, Caterpillar, J.H. Fletcher & Co, Getman, Joy Mining Machinery, Komatsu, Liebherr, P&H Mining Equipment, Sandvik and others.
